Candidate should have –(a) a Hong Kong first or second class honours degree in a relevant science or engineering subject, or equivalent;(b) met the language proficiency requirement of Level 2 (Note) or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent. (Note: “Grade E” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 2” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth);(c) minimum three-year relevant full-time post-qualifications working experience at an appropriate level of responsibility in relation to air quality management, especially in the field of air quality data analysis;(d) good communication and writing skills in Chinese and English;(e) knowledge and experience in air quality monitoring, air chemistry and meteorology; and(f) proficiency in data exploration, interpretation and visualization using MS Excel, Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), Pivot Table, statistical computing tools (such as R or Python), and knowledge of SQL., The main duties include –(a) perform Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) forecast and issue air pollution alerts using available information;(b) analyze meteorological and air quality data to support air quality forecast and model enhancement;(c) assist in enhancement of Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) reporting system and data management;(d) respond to enquiries on AQHI and air quality information; and(e) process and analyze air monitoring data and trends to evaluate the effectiveness of air control programmes and compilation of air quality reports.(Note: The hours and venues of work may be varied having regard to the operational needs of the department. The successful candidate may be required to (a) work irregular hours and overtime, including evenings, weekends and public holidays; and (b) work outdoors.) |
